Longtime clients of Dumais approached the studio to design a second home they were building in Windsor, the exclusive residential community situated 90 miles up the coast from Palm Beach.
Light, natural linens and cottons keep the overall atmosphere summery, as do the architecturally graphic open staircase and poured-concrete floors. Meanwhile, relaxed upholstery and other mid-century touches add classic sophistication.

Foyer
The two-story foyer draws the glance upwards to exposed ceiling beams—and is also a convenient thruway from entrance to pool area. The arresting light fixture casts a warm glow and makes the entry area resemble a lantern when viewed from outside at night.
Library
With dark-stained oak cabinetry and walls painted deep gray, the library is moodier than other rooms in the house. Square in its proportions and oriented around a custom travertine-and-oak coffee table, it’s at once more formal and intimate as a social space.
Great Room
The great room’s glass wall opens fully onto the poolside loggia. A swiveling tub chair and leather Eames lounger allow eyelines and conversations to pivot between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Kitchen
Clad in distinctive Danby marble, the island has most of the kitchen’s countertop footage and serves as a natural gathering place for informal meals and family moments between all the coming and going to the pool. Black metal storage drawers help ground the unit against white concrete. The backsplash is handmade Heath Ceramic tile.
