Bridgehampton
private Home
A young couple was eager to make this brand-new coastal weekend retreat their own. Dumais fully designed and furnished the home in a way that took full advantage of its classic northeastern shingle style, while using colors and textures to soften architectural severities—all on an accelerated timeline.
With playful artwork and a landscaping design that unifies indoor and outdoor spaces, the result is at once relaxed and sophisticated.

Foyer
The double-height foyer presented dramatic entrance possibilities. This oversized carriage lantern, one of three hung in the foyer, were chosen for their traditional form and reimagined in a grand scale for a whimsical installation.
Great Room
Dumais created a casual great room off the kitchen, introducing a natural sense of flow between the two spaces. With its deep club chairs, ten-foot sofa, and easygoing indoor-outdoor upholstery, the room was designed to be the house’s social center.
Kitchen
Pops of blue added an injection of youth and freshness throughout the house. Many of the dressings make use of beach tones and textures, such as seagrass Roman shades.
Junior master bedroom
The vast junior master bedroom required a furniture grouping to fill out the space. Vintage chairs and a palette of cool grays and golden wheat tones add to the atmosphere of low-key luxury.
OUTDOORS
An outdoor fireplace was constructed to enrich the look and feel of the pool area. The low-slung furniture and adjacent hot tub make this an ideal space for late-day relaxation, especially with the sun setting behind the fireplace.
